A version of james K was born. Comprised of bones, reactive metals and a larynx with freckled eyes that catalyzes that mix, she can now see through all the schemes. This is the truth. When she chews gum, it’s not clear which one of her personas does it. Since their first release in 2013, describing them separately is grunt work as they switch places, cosplay each other and would most likely lull you into a lonesome dream. Together, they know how to produce, sound, film and edit. Thus, they are brought to the table, performing and DJing in clubs and theaters, along composers and children alike. She has performed in festivals and venues such as Dekmantel, Sustain Release, Mutek, iii Points, and Nowadays.. In recent years she has shared the stage with James Ferraro, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Yves Tumor, Morton Subotnick, Nick Leon, and Priori, among many

others.

Die von einer strengen Frauenstimme gesprochenen Anweisungen am Anfang sind einigermaßen seltsam: Man solle den Bauch einziehen, die Arme seitlich ausstrecken, die Hände nach oben strecken und sich dann durch den Raum drehen. Erst wenn die Musik einsetzt, fangen sie an, Sinn zu ergeben, denn der Track erinnert an die Frühzeiten des House: üppiger breiter Beat, mechanische Streicher, ein „Up“ und ein „Ay“ im Loop. Pure, positive Energie. Dazu bewegen sich die Beine fast von allein. Der Text von Joshua Idehen ist aufbauend. Wenn sich schlechte Gedanken einschleichen, sage er sich:„Don’t let it get you down.“ Er sei nicht allein, und „You and I are deserving of good things“.

Und diese „good things“ würden kommen, daran glaube er fest. Er singt das nicht, sondern spricht die Worte in einem abgehackten Rhythmus. Idehen ist auch „spoken word artist“: ein Poet der Performance. Zweimal trat er schon beim Glastonbury Festival auf, erzählte er dem „Guardian“. Als er dort vor Jahren in einem Zelt Gedichte vorlas, flüchteten die Menschen hinaus in den Regen. Als er heuer im Sommer seine Musik spielte, drängelten sich Tausende vor der Bühne. Es scheint, als hätte er etwas gefunden, was nicht nur ihm, sondern auch anderen Freude bereitet.
